Coming to Courseulles-sur-Mer for the D-Day beaches, the Juno Beach Centre or simply a week by the sea? You don't need a car. From Paris, or straight from Caen railway station, the journey is short, cheap and easy. Here's exactly how to do it.

From Paris to Courseulles-sur-Mer

Take a train from Paris Saint-Lazare to Caen — about 2 hours on a direct Intercités service. Book ahead on sncf-connect.com for the best fares. Caen station and the bus station sit right next to each other, so the connection takes just a couple of minutes on foot.

From Caen station to Courseulles: the NOMAD line 101

The simplest, most frequent and most direct way to reach Courseulles-sur-Mer is the NOMAD line 101 (formerly "Bus Vert"), Normandy's regional coach network.

  • Departure: Caen bus station, right beside the SNCF train station.
  • Arrival: several stops in Courseulles — Château, Place du 6 Juin, Le Port.
  • Journey time: roughly 1 h to 1 h 30 depending on traffic and stops.
  • Frequency: regular departures all day, 7 days a week, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Fare: very affordable, around €4 to €6.

Getting around the coast without a car

In summer, line 101 connects at Courseulles with the seasonal line that runs along the coast towards Arromanches and the other landing beaches — perfect for a car-free, low-carbon holiday. Once you're here, most of what you'll want is walkable: the port, the market, the beach and the Juno Beach Centre are all a few minutes on foot from our rentals.
